About to do a deal on a car which I am not sure about the colour of it - however the car has a superb history and has been cosseted all its life. Any body have any experience of the cost and durability of doing a full recolour wrap.
Pretty expensive and not all that durable in my experience.
Plus when you open the doors you can see the main colour anyway so it looks a bit crap.
Better off getting used to the colour I reckon.
Lots of horror stories (one particular 'famous' one about a wrap on a GTR which wasn't erm, brilliant). Lots of good ones though. Meant to be very durable stuff, dead easy to colour match if you need to replace a panel etc.
I'd say get on a car forum (might be some info floating around on pistonheads etc) and do some research into local places to you.
Obviously a load cheaper and if you get fed up with it or want to sell the car, just take it off.
Quick google suggests between £900-£1800 for a full wrap. Know someone (footballer) who had a matt black done an it was neatly done.
a few mates have had it done, like most things, there are very good ones and very bad ones.
1200 seems average for and average car done right. Some colours obviously won't wrap well, ie yellow wrapped white, there are always bits, engine bay etc that won't be wrapped. totally dynamic are usually good.

Obviously get a proper one done with the door shuts etc wrapped.
Or just get it sprayed.
Or just get used to the colour.
Or wait for the right car...
If your willing to travel theres a place at the end of my rd in blackpool, only use 3m wrap (the best) they do all door shuts etc and do all the blackpool trams/buses and police/ambulance cars plus all the large fleet companies, bmw used him to do a promo for the new msport 3series for a client day at their flagship dealer as they couldent sprat it intime and do the motorsport decals, search autolines graphics online, plus hes a good pal of mine possible discount avil
We use totally dynamics for our company vans. Not cheap but a fantastic job!
I'm in the middle of De wrapping 2 vans at the moment and the level of detail they went to is impressive.
Pretty pricey. Hard to pull a figure out of the air, but somewhere between 800 and 1500 for a car. Find a company that specialises in vehicle wraps, not just a local sign shop. I've rarely seen a wrap that still looks good after 6 months. The life of the finish is very much dependant on the quality of the installation. It's more suited to commercial vehicles and short term applications.
