Back of the neck, a nice sharp Lycra line on my upper arms and a rosy nosey 🙂

Saw a few victims on Friday night!! And a few more yesterday afternoon, one particularly classy chap walking down the road with shirt off and can of lager in hand at about 11am ish!

Yes, although the sunburn is nothing compared with how I feel after less than 4 hours sleep 🙁

Shouldn't you change the thread title to

"Anyone suceeded in hightening their risk of getting skin cancer this weekend?"

Caught the sun on my forearms, very windy on the coast so I think that worsened the effect.

Not going into work though, not for 3 weeks. About to walk down to the beach with the kids and get more sunburn

I agree with using some sun protection but your appearance should point to your lifestyle no?

possibly mr funky, but if i did that i'd have to go through all the "what a great ride!" type threads and suggest everything's changed to "did i just increase the risk of hurting myself and potentially dying by going outside?" 😉

skin cancer is a serious subject, i didn't intend this thread to be too serious. I'd hope as adults most people on this forum would have the common sense to use protection and to moderate their time in the sun in attempts to minimise the risk.... however yesterday i didnt, hence the embarrassed face. first proper sunny weekend and i didnt expect to be outside for longer than an hour (turned into 3-4 hours) and my guess would be a lot of others weren't expecting to come home sunburnt at this time of year either.

lesson learnt this weekend.

remember kids, stay safe, use protection (in the bedroom and outside the bedroom) 😀

I'm going for an even worse look. I spent most of yesterday afternoon cutting back a very overgrown prickly hedge and today I look like the gardening equivalent of Richey from the Manic Street Sweepers

Slightly "glowing" neck. Managed to nab some suncream before I'd spent too long out in the sun though, as I was playing cricket yesterday afternoon, that could have been rather nasty had I not managed to!

There were some really red people on my flight back from Spain last night! One rather large girl in particular who'd obviously fallen asleep on her sunlounger, she was red as a lobster!

[s]Arms, face, legs, neck all starting to show a golden tan[/s] my fur has been bleached in the sun, now my darker patches look like old coffee stains on an otherwise puuuurrrrrrfect white coat

Nearly had a coffee keyboard moment there Phil!

Having criticised by brother for coming home saturday being rather burnt, I managed to burn my arms yesterday, nothing major, just karma I think!

No work for me though 😛

Remembered to soak face and neck in cream, forgot about the legs... Nice glowing red cutoff where the lycra ends and the previously white legs begin...

65miles on the road bike, it was quite chilly at 8am, quite sunny by 1:30 🙁

Very pink forearms, knees avoided the worst of it, face not too bad (wrap arround sunnies, beard and big hair), neck doesnt feel sore but probably is.

I've still not got a cycling tan despite 2 hours yesterday in the sun and 2 hours/day for the last few weeks.

My head is a lot browner now since the weekend before last though. Haven't got a sunhat with me.

a lot of others weren't expecting to come home sunburnt at this time of year eithe

Sun is exactly the same now as it is in August.

Yep. Strongest sun is in June. So two months past June (ie August) is the same as two months before June (ie April).

Ok so it's actually nearish the end of June, so sun now is actually the same as August 31st.

When I say 'the same' I mean it's at the same angle, which means the radiation is the same strength* and the hours of daylight are the same.

* actually the atmosphere in August is probably more dusty and hazy, and the humidity's probably higher which would actually reduce the sun's effect on you.
