Radio that is, not a demiwave derivative.
Just ordered myself a Tecsun PL380 and am looking for listening recommendations.
And any other tips and stuff.

Thanks.

Wow. Have I found a subject that is too geeky even for STW?
I am surprised.

I had a BMW about 15 years ago with a short wave radio. Sometimes I amused myself by listening to the fire and brimstone rants from hypocritical American evangelical preachers (the best of whom, Brother Stair, is now in nick for not keeping it in his trousers) and those bursts of morse code that made me think I was eavesdropping on some Smersh and Specter plot to take over the world.

Better hurry up though. The second coming is any day now.

I used to have a DX394 and spent many hours listening to various SW stations from around the world. Particularly South America. I don't really remember any frequencies/wavelengths but I do remember this quote of unkown origin which I believe to be quite true: "Listening to shortwave can make significant changes to your perception of the media."

Enjoy your radio...

Zzjabzz - I'm already thinking of returning it on the basis of that eerie quote And it's not been delivered yet!
