Looking for plenty of stock of varied outdoor equipment, nice quality, not more than an hour or so's travel from Bristol or Bath.
I already know about Up and Under of Cardiff (lots of nice stuff) and Summit of Portishead (small but nicely stocked).
TauntonLeisure in Bedminster, Bristol is pretty good. 10 mins walk from Temple Meads station.

Bristol's your town. Don't bother with Bath. Bristol: Go Outdoors, Snow and Rock, Taunton Leisure, Blacks in town, North Face shop in town. Jeez, there are loads around Bristol to be honest. If you're looking for an all under one roof, GoOutdoors is great. Snow and Rock is great but all top notch and top dollar stuff. Lots of specialist climbing, snowboarding etc shops too.
If you've ever been in Summit, a few colleagues and I did the wood floor there.
Try BCH camping in Bath, just opposite the new bus station. Small but quality selection, will order in anything and very friendly knowledgeable and local staff. Support a local shop, dont go anywhere near Blacks/snow and rock etc.
Also Kathmandu at top of Park Street and Nomad on Park Street in Bristol.
Itchy Feet in Bath near the Assembly rooms - bit more travel than hardcore outdoors but good small shop, nice friendly people.
