👌🏻 I do like a bit of Doves.
Banger!
Can't wait for the new album
Doves are ace!
I’m not sure about it yet. Doesn’t match up to the Black Rivers stuff at all. Still looking forward to an album though, of course.
Not listened to them for a while but loved their first two albums so will give this a go.
Vv excited
Nothing NOTHING soundtracked 2000-2010 (what was that decade called?) For me more than Doves
I was obsessed with Lost souls when it came out and one listen and I'm back in year 2000
Kingdom of rust, if I listen to house full of mirrors (one of their psychest?) Then it's springtime on the moelfre uplift circa 2009
One of the best manc bands which is high praise indeed (yes I know they're from Wilmslow)
Gallagher bros not fit to lace Doves shoes.
I saw them perform Lost Souls stuff live, before it had lyrics/vocals. Immediately hit as brilliant. Saw them as SubSub once as well, in an empty leisure centre at a post Reading Festival after party type thing… was a bit sad… not the music, just the lack of appreciation or atmosphere.
Used to love Doves mate. And mitsis. Bang on. Proper, like. Sound as a pound kiddo.
Yes, love them.
The BBC electric proms gig they did with the London Bulgarian Choir was one of my favourites ever. Seems to be on you tube - def worth checking out.
Also, mtb connection, Danny MacAskill was in the video for Winter Hill.

Very much this. The definitive Manchester band IMHO. I saw them so many times live during that period.
The new stuff sounds great. Really looking forward to the album
Saw them support Travis, but their equipment was badly set up and they apologised for being shit. Never got round to seeing them properly, will have to try this time round.
If you like Doves, and haven't ever come across them, also check out Cherry Ghost. Unlikely you aren't aware of them as they used to seemingly always support Doves - though first time I saw Doves it was an unknown band called Elbow on support.
Doves played Tramlines in Sheffield last year. Not seen them before and was mightily impressed.
Seen Doves supporting Elbow, and on their own, great band, and I love Kingdom of Rust.
That single is a grower. It gets better the more you hear it.
If you’ve not got it already, then Lost Sides is a cracking album. It goes to show how prolific they were at the time that this was the stuff not deemed good enough to make it on to Lost Souls. Far From Grace is one of my favourite Doves tracks.
Loved this from the first listen, have near played it to death already. Have had to leave it alone for the weekend

Sorry but Cherry Ghost have to be the most dreary band ever.
