Hi All

I’m looking for new MTB glasses, have my eye on the Smith Wildcats ( https://www.smithoptics.com/uk/Root/Men%27s/Sunglasses/Performance/Wildcat/p/20151600399X6) but thought I’d ask if there is anything similar at a lower price point? When did plastic riding glasses get so expensive!?

Thanks!

Cant help on the MTB glasses part but i can heartily recommend smiths chromapop lens technology, been using oakley prizm lenses for years but recently decided to get the smith lowdown 2 with chromopop for more casual bike/general sunglasses use and they are bloody amazing to view the world - my oakley prizm's are relegated to the spares drawer now

I have a few pairs of Ekoi glasses which I really like

A friend got some and preferred them to his Oakleys

Try B & Q. I'm riding with a pair for £2.50

As good as overpriced branded versions

I've got Shimano Techniums.
Nice and big but with vents to stop fogging. A lot more convenient than goggles.
Comes with a clear lens as well.
And they're quite cheap.

If you want the 'modern' or is it retro? single huge lens look then £30 at planetx or £15 the week after you buy some...

... alternatively my partner got some sports sunglasses marked down in Aldi for £1.99 and they are pretty good. You won't cry when you drop them either!

Working through my box of Honeywell safety glasses that I got for £1.36 each (box of 10). I find them just as good as more expensive glasses and I don't worry if I scratch, sit on or lose them like I tend to do with expensive ones. Even had people asking me what they were as they really don't look like safety glasses. So have a look at what's going cheap online or near you, can save a small fortune.

Sod's law that since I've switched to them I'm yet to damage or lose a pair in 8 months!

Bolle ones from screwfix for me. Think I've got about 5 pairs now, so I can usually find some. A few mates are now using them too.

You can even get a matching case for a fiver

I've got a few pairs of the £3.99 ones plus some of their older swap lenses types
