I have a Worcester green star 37cdi combi boiler.

Recently I have noticed the hot water flow rate has dropped significantly. The boiler still works fine and heats up the water adequately with no wired noises etc. just the flow rate had decreased.

The cold water water feed still has a good flow rate and I’ve tried opening the mains tap more but this had no effect.

When the hit tap is opened there is an instant normal flow rate burst then very quickly reduces and stays reduced.

Any idea what this problem could be? Is this something I can look into myself? While I lack experience I’m reasonably competent with hand tools and have some mechanical sympathy.

Inline filter anywhere in the hot water flow?

Check the user manual, may help.

Ah thanks! I have the user manual at home which only give trouble shooting help on the central heating but nothing about the hot water system.   Didn't think to look at the installation instructions.

Will try and take a look at the flow restrictor tonight and see if that is blocked or faulty.

thank you

I had this (different model WB boiler) - it was a little mesh water filter thing that was furred up - give it a clean, pop it back in.

I live in a very hard water area so I'm hoping its a little filter thing that can be cleaned or replaced easily and cheaply rather than some thing expensive and hard like the heat exchanger.   Fingers crossed, the installation manual linked above has given me a rough idea of things to look at.   Will give it a go tonight and see what happens.
