you know these IT courses advertised by computeach/ICS etc, well it had crossed my mind to do one.....sick of working n my current proffesion (its making me really unhappy and they're trying to get shot of me anyway)
Has anyone on here done one? what were the results, ie, did it help you get another job at the end of it or is it just a load of old c0ck?. Just looking for peoples points of view really
be very careful; they tend to be VERY expensive for what you get, and they employ very good (and pretty pushy) 'salesmen' who'll convince you that you're capable of things you may well not be.
you'd be better off looking into what courses your local further education college(s) offer... lots cheaper, and you're likely to get better support.
Also, try to do some of what you're intending to do at home. If you're going to be a hardware engineer, learn to take apart PCs at home. Software developer, get some free tools and some books. Desktop support, fix PCs for friends and relatives.
Practical experience is better than a piece of paper most of the time (but paper can open doors I'd agree).
