We will be in touch
Hi all,
We have super slow internet at work. All our documents are cloud based (Google Drive), as is much of the software we use, so this is pretty annoying. We'd like to view how much bandwidth each laptop and phone connected to the wifi is using, whether the Google Drive is requiring abnormally high amounts, whether we shouldn't be using smart -phones etc etc.
It is just a regular wifi router and broadband set up (albeit in India). Any suggestions on how we can do this, basic traffic monitoring freeware etc?
Thanks,
Duane
Windows 10 has data usage built in, there are other tools you can use for recording network usage.
If you are all on google drive (we are at work) then every time one of you changes a file it will upload from you then down to all the others, that can clog your usage up a bit.
If you are all wireless then you're sharing the connection, so that could also be a problem.
Use a Cisco Meraki Wifi AP and you get excellent usage stats.
Expensive, but well worth it in a commercial environment.
