What could one do with a few hours between Wansbeck general hospital, Newcastle city and the airport?

On hand luggage only, so running (or swimming if the pool is really nice) kit would just about fit, no bike though.

What do STW professional types fill their evenings with up there?

If you time it right, come play bike polo! We have loaner bikes.

Oh, professional types... Right.

Jesmond Pool and the refurbished City Baths are both nice pools near the Metro.

Not really a big urban runner, but running around the Quayside and bridges is probably nice if you are.

Go to Trllians and see what metal bands are on.

Sorry my info is about 20 years out of date.

Trip to Montane factory shop, run on the beach/coast (pick one) followed by fish & chips/parmo/curry as taste dictates.

Or from the airport a jog/snoop round Darras Hall to check out the footballers cribs.

I'm told The Badger, just bythe airport on the edge on Ponteland, is good but haven't been personally

The Badger is a Vintage Inn chain, so leave that up to your judgement as to whether you think it's good. Personally I think it's overpriced for what it is, a slightly posher Brewers Fayre.

Not today I'm afraid, if that's the Thursday in question. We played on Tuesday this week but mix it up depending on when most people are available. It's reet good fun.

Details and other dates (when we decide) here:

This place always delivers. Meetings went on a bit too long, but had time to nip into Montane, now installed by the fire in the Bear.

Seems reasonable (and better than any of the airport terminal options).
