TV weatherman Fred Talbot's Manchester home searched by police investigating historical child sex abuse allegations.
*sadface*
Was this known about already? I thought there had been a previous enquiry into him a few years back as well?
And to think of some of the names he used to call people on here before he got baned.
Is the media coverage now starting to effect the likelihood of any fair trials?
With the Saville case that started it, the fact that it was originality ignored required the media coverage to force the authorities to do their job properly. But the subsequent cases where it appearers the police are actually already taking allegations seriously and investigating, then releasing the names of suspects seems nothing more than salacious gossip.
Didn't we have a presumption in this country of "innocent until proven guilty"?
Any sex crime allegation destroys someone's life if they're a public figure.
^This^
Saw this in the paper this morning. Who leaks the information to the press? There should be a new offence stricter offence for serving Police officers passing on tit bits to Journalists. It should involve hot pokers. Whether the charge is correct or not.
I knew it, the way he jumped across that map was a dead giveaway*
*example of typical pub conversation by all these experts who are never surprised at anything.
Frank Bough will be in some sort of sex scandal next, mark my words.
Leaking to the press is a way of persuading victims to come forward. Apparently.
David Cameron admitted having sex with his wife.
She was six years old once.
How can we stand by while he ruins the country?
Will somebody think of the children...
Will somebody think of the children...
I think this was what got a lot of people into trouble in the first place.
My wife once sat on Jimmy Savilles knee, he didn't try anything with her. Is it totally wrong to take the mick out of her for being turned down by Saville ๐
I think far too many are already thinking of the children which is really the point...
It's the excessive thinking of the children that's getting people into trouble.
Thoughtcrime and all that... ๐
Edit: Great minds, apparently. And slow fingers...
i had sex with a 15yr old girl once..........i was 14 at the time.

Yup, and then you open it to be met with the words "Hi Dad!"
๐
Ton, you sicken me. 8)
mate, i sicken myself......... ๐
Had a discussion with my eldest (fifteen) about a boy she fancied at school:
me: Well, how can you be sure he's not a paedophile?
her: Dad, don't be stupid, he's in my class at school, he's the same age as me!
me: Well, can you think of a better disguise for a paedophile?
her: ....... storms out the room
See, you can't argue with logic like that, can you ๐
๐ Awesome Z-11!
made me chuckle too.
I remember a lad at school (around 1990) whose dad supposedly thumped a certain tv weatherman for being inappropriate with his son at Albert Dock in Liverpool.
This one has been doing the rounds on the rumour mill for years.
I thnk it's safe to assume that every TV personality over 40 is some kind of pervert.
timmy mallet soon?
Pat Sharpe, Cliff Richard, Philip Schofield, Rod, Jane and Freddy?
grum, are you intent on "Pulling a Bercow"?
Careful where this speculation goes chaps..
Having funs one thing, pointing fingers (cough) is another..
My Sis had to leave skool early (15) no exams, now't, all becuase she was having a "relationship" with her Drama teacher.
This stuffs been going on for centuries.
Sorry I was just randomly saying some names - no relation to the OP obviously. ๐

From your unknown child, possibly... ๐
I heard that weather was suspected of grooming kiddies by hiding subliminal messages in the weather.
you're just clouding the issue unklehomered.
Gordon the Goffer was definitely at it!
And Ed The Duck, his taste in jumpers says it all
This reminds me of a cartoon after Saville & the tax issue that hit the BBC where a bloke is saying to another guy
So you work for the BBC, so what are you then a peodphile or a tax dodger?
It's amazing that they haven't sacked anyone over the issues raised, killing a programme and defamtion. Start with that **** Patton. He couldn't run a kids tea party without some issue.
I bet the sight of plod rained on his parade, not something he's likely to fogget in a hurrycane.......
It might just be a storm in a teacup
It'll all blow over
anything that gets him off tv is fine by me ๐
