as a season ticket holder, i doubt it is a april fools - across too much of the media now for that.

However, can he really do too much wrong - we were destined to relegation with the Hughton/Calderwood jokers in charge he is the only person who could come in and have any sort of positive impact. The fans firmly believe that we will get relegated, can Shearer do much worse - if we go down it wasnt his fault - a season isnt made in the last 8 games. If he keeps us up he is even more of a hero than he has ever been. The guy is idolised up here - he can do no wrong, the reception at the Chelsea game will be massive, bigger than keegans last appointment.

Welcome to the world of the NUFC rollercoaster, sit back, strap in and enjoy.

I imagine the club itself probably do still consider themselves as a big club, with one of the largest stadiums and capacities in the league and one of the largest wage bills.

However in recent league perfomances I dont consider ourselves to be "big". if i was asked during 02-03 era when we were in Champions League and doing well I would have said yes a "big" club. Now we arent however. How we have fallen! ๐Ÿ™
