i'm looking for a basic and reasonably small all in one stove to keep in the car and boil up the odd cuppa, about 1L capacity. i've had trangia for years but i'm really after something more compact, quicker to boil and that doesnt involve carrying matches or meths.

i really don't know anything about kit like this but looking quickly the alpkit brukit wolf seems ideal at 45quid, whilst the jetboil ones too expensive.

so before i buy one can anyone recommend anything else around that price thats worth having a look at?

A friend of mine has done a comparison of lots of stoves here:

He wasn't too impressed with the Alpkit one. It's not a bad stove, just not as well built as the others and certainly doesn't boil as fast/efficiently as the more expensive ones.

It's probably fine for keeping in the car but if you also want to take it out into the mountains then maybe consider paying the extra for better reliability and performance.
