is there any scope for a possible maybe illegal ride through it! quite fancy the idea of being first to cycle through ... did anyone walk through it on the organised walk the other weekend. what are my chances...
i once went the wrong way on a route in Italy which took me through a large 4km-ish A type road tunnel. It was the most terrifying thing I have done in my life (saying that I did learn to team time trial in that short time). I don't recommend it.

Already been done apparently, but I'm not sure if I believed the guy that told me. There were lots of CCTV cameras when we walked through it a couple of weeks back, so expect someone to be waiting at the other end for you 😉
Ian is it totally 'locked down'? if i was arrested it would be for trespass i guess but i could say i was lost and all the roads had been moved. (open in july officially.)
There is 24 hour security, people will be around the tunnel 247
Trespass is a civil offence. No criminal record.

Now us lot have thought of doing this on our Thursday night rides, approach form the south and ride as fast as we can should be down hill, however there is a very long run the tunnel and there is a lot of security systems in place to detect bikes and pedestrians,all we would be doing is to give them a test.
I think it opens on 14th July but I might be wrong.
