Hi all

In 2 weeks I will be moving from where I have lived for the past few years round the corner from a tesco and with an asda not too far away, the new place has a sainsburys round the corner and a lidl near by too.

How is this going to change my life, is sainsburys expensive? can you live out of a lidl?

Steve

This diagram shows the vortex of despair into which you will be dragged as a result of shopping in an unfamiliar supermarket.

sainsburys and aldi would be a good combo. Lidl is only one step up from Netto 😯

The only problem I can forsee is that your new abode will, if you're not careful, rapidly fill with things like this:

and this

and many other almost totally useless but extremely bargainous items.

Sainsbury's can be shopped in cheaply and Lidl is good for cold meats, sausage etc, german beer and well cheap household essentials like cleaning products.

The Sainsbury Lidl psuedo-dicotomy is going to be difficult to come to terms with; while the aforementioned purveyors of goods for the home and table are not binary opposites its clear their commercial imperatives are likely to be different to the Tesco/Asda market alignment with which you are familiar with. The localised consumer-centric competative pressure on prices and general raping of the local community is a far cry from the new grocery order that awaits you and so you're probably going to have to choose; J Sainsbury if your wad is bulging, Lidl if it's lighter than an ant's fart.

Good luck and God bless.
