Been impressed recently by the 6L OMM waistpacks for trips into the hills. I currently have an old but light haversack I use but being a bit sweaty I end up with a very wet and cold back and I am sometimes reluctant to take my jacket out of my bag when my front is cold knowing the rest of me is hot and sweaty(back mainly)
A larger bumbag would allow my back to breathe! and the 6L bum bags looks big enough for the bits and pieces I would need for shorter runs including a jacket and waterproof pants.
(I have a larger OMM bag for longer days)

2 Questions:
Does it attach/clip to the 40L backpack? which would allow dual use in the OMM if I need the space and would negate the need for me to buy a chest pack which I will only use for the OMM/longer events.

Can anyone comment on them generally?

Many thanks

I got one to use in the Lakeland 50 this year. It is a good bag but because it has an OMM bottle in it which is longer than a standard one I found the bottle and it's sleeve flapped about when running. I solved this by having a single long compression strap sown onto the bag which runs from one buckle right around the bag and attaches at the other side. This works well but has to be released before getting into the bag main compartment and then tightened up again to run.

In the end I ran the 50 with a small pack because I found that when I rammed everything I needed into the bum bag the weight meant it was a little uncomfortable to carry.

It's not a bad piece of kit but I'd be tempted to really think about if you need that much capacity and if you don't then get a smaller one, (I use a Pete Bland own brand for 3 - 4 hrs out,) and / or look for one you can put a bottle inside.

I think it can clip to the 40L pack under the lid, but don't take that as gospel.

Thanks Kendal!

I do have one of the small Pete Bland ones which is ideal for racing but I wanted something a bit in between really.
