Exactly what was the driver of the Golf thinking yesterday as he attempted to get up the steep snow and ice covered track into West of England Quarry car park? The track which had signs at the bottom announcing the car park was shut due to snow and ice. Of course in order to get anywhere he had to attack at speed - something I wasn't terribly impressed by given I was standing almost on the track sorting my skis out at the time (not like I was expecting any motor traffic!) Just glad it wasn't a few minutes earlier when I was skiing down the track, as I doubt he could stop in the distance he could see despite the gradient.

Had a little chuckle when he inevitably got stuck part way up, wheels spinning. Thought briefly about going up and asking if he needed a push and then pushing him back down the hill if he said yes 😉

He probably thought 'why is that **** skiing down a road'. Do you own 'West of England Quarry car park'?

The "road" which is normally also a pedestrian route, was shut to cars (as I mentioned), and I wasn't actually skiing down at the time?

Oh, and I have a very small part share, yes.

That's fair enough in a way, assuming there isn't a footpath - I kind of think the same thing - but do you also get pissed off at people on bikes riding on the road?

At least it wasn't a 4x4 that would have made it and prob not even noticed as it bumped you over the edge......

Oh well if you own the place, even a very small share, perhaps you should have asked the driver 'exactly what he thought he was doing' instead of being mr angry behind a keyboard.

i don't really object to people being on the road, just to them not getting out of the way or paying attention, i might be driving slowly but it's MORE dangerous to be on the road than in good weather!

also people stopping in stupid places to attach ropes to cars to tow people on skis, i'm sure it's fun but be sensible about it

Probably for the same reason I didn't go to "help" by pushing him back down the hill 🙄

Have the rules changed on here recently? I thought the whole point of the chat forum was to have a whinge about things you couldn't do anything about?

a car is on the road BY LICENCE, you have no rights to be there, you have to give way to other road users, if you don't like that fact then sorry stick to the Motorways where cars belong.
