Which thread / post were you replying to specifically, and were you quoting an existing post? That'd help confirm my suspicions. The problem I hit was a very specific fringe case so I'm curious as to how you got it 5 minutes later.
We've been trying some new tools to prevent our server from being hit with suspicious IPs. It's being a bit over enthusiastic. We are turning it down and will probably leave it off over the weekend and come back to it next week.

Yeah. I think it's a variation on the S****horpe problem.
I've had word back from Tech, they've disabled the module which is believed to be causing the issue. Please yell if it does it again.
