as above, got a 3rd gen touch that I cant load the sonos app onto because it needs to be ios6, but when I try and upload it , it says software up to date??

Maybe ios6 is the latest software that will support that iPod touch?
Apple peeps will be able to tell you for sure.

I don't think the Touch 3G can go above iOS 5.1.1. It's all down to what the Firmware can cope with. Even jailbraking won't help, apps need the firmware to be up to date, as far as I can work out.
