Am looking at the best deals (with proper warranties, i.e. John Lewis, Richer Sounds) for a decent sub £400 32". Would also contemplate a 26".

Options include:

SAMSUNG LE26B450
LG 32LH3000
PANASONIC VIERA TXL32X10
PANASONIC VIERA TXL26X10

There are also a couple of good Sharp models (even though I'm not really a fan of them). Not really sure if the Sony's are worth it at this level?

Would like to pick one up before Xmas but might be able to hang on until Jan sales. If so, do JL and RS normally offer better deals in Jan?

Any ideas folks?

TIA

JL - 5 year guarantee plus a price match - you can't go wrong.

Am I the only person still using a CRT TV?

no, I do 🙂 £35 for a 32" flatscreen CRT a few months ago. Much better picture than a lot of TFT panels mates have.

We've just bought the model up from the Samsung one; picture quality is excellent, menus are easy to use, looks nice in the living room. The only niggle is that the only sound output is optical, so you'll need a DAC if you want to feed it into something that doesn't have an optical input.

Cheers guys.

Have just checked out M&S and they don't appear to be offering many comparable deals at the moment. Will probably stick with JL or RS and see if I can hold out until Jan in hope that the sales offer better value.

TBH we haven't even been thinking about getting one until last night - now I feel like a kid at Xmas and just want one, even though I/we don't need one.

I just got the Samsung 550 32". Same comments as Phiiiil above. I have only one issue with it and that is the remote control needs to be aimed very precisely at the tele, oh that and the remote is far too big. Other than that it is a great tv. Roll on the christmas film bonanza.
