Thinking of doing the 3 peaks in march next year so I thought I'd pick the stw mind. How hard is it? And what routes did you use? Any other tips ?Thanks in advance
Very.
What tyres for..
If walking, don't.
Don't, it's overdone as it is and causes too many issues with locals not to mention litter and erosion. Be original and come up with your own 3 peaks which see much less use and challenge yourself that way.
The Yorkshire route or the national one?
As above, there are 3 ways in which doing the 3 peaks is acceptable:
1) sailing between them
2) cycling between them
3) they're all in Yorkshire
I didn't realise there was so much hate on the three peaks!
I haven't heard of the Yorkshire one?
Is the Wales one more stw friendly ?
Man up and do the Welsh 3000s.

The Yorkshire one is Ingleborough, Whernside, Pen-y-Ghent. About 25 miles or so to walk it.

The above don't involve all the driving, parking, waking locals, crowds and roadside pissing/puking.

It's the environmental and impacts of massive groups doing it that's the main issue. It's also apparently a major PITA for those living near by.
Also bear in mind that in march any or all of the 3 could be in full winter condition.
Gavin Williams from my club - dark peak fell runners has completed the national 3 peaks using public transport, a bike and his legs in under 24 hours. That seems to be the only proper way to do it
Welsh 3000s
This is also a much greater physical challenge. The three peaks is basically a driving / sleeping in a bus challenge.
Or how about the Scottish 4000ers, riding in between? But perhaps not in March.
How about the

Start in Colne, home of my favourite coffee shop About Coffee
My Mrs has decided she wants to do the Yorkshire 3 Peaks. So wer'e doing Pen-y Ghent on Sunday then Ingleborough in a couple of weeks & Whernside hopefully before Xmas.
It'll be a piece of pee.
Not sure if anyone else has done it but Eric Beard ran between the three peaks (Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, Snowdon) https://quickquickpotato.wordpress.com/2016/10/20/eric-beard/

If you're still undecided.
Welsh 3000ers is a much better challenge. But even in March weather may dictate your approach.
Do the UKs 3 highest peaks instead.
3 peaks race is late april. I'm planning on doing it. (yorkshire, running, not national, driving).
