Other than Ebay, where does one look for such things?

I quite like the round cased variants. Not overly fussed on the range.

They don't seem to be 1970s, or cheap

I feel like I am being trolled with this question after two weeks of TdF

Ok. I admit it was triggered by the TdF ads, but those guys are doing far more recent and expensive stuff.

I like the lower key 1970s stuff more.

Austin Kaye, Ian Blowers, Parkers Jewellers - google them.

thesaleroom.com lists auctions, some of which sell a few watches, some of which are dedicated watch sales

Thank to those posting sensible answers.

To the others - well I was probably asking for it after the TdF related stuff. (Findawatch.com exists by the way - but uninspiring)

One thing to note - unless you can view the watches or it's a dedicated watch auction, often you get the sum total of precisely f*ck all in the way of guarantee that what you're buying at auction is genuine or working.

More generally, 'Vintage' Omegas are often messed around with - 'franken' watches with mixes of genuine and after-market/fake parts, dodgy refurbs and restoration. eBay is full of them.

What's your budget?

The other obvious places are the timezone forums, chrono24 etc. There are reputable online dealers like Austin Kaye and Poshtime. Google's your friend. I'd look to buy from a UK based dealer who's going to stand behind their watches and descriptions.

Its worth joining one of the watch forums and getting a bit more knowledge on the watch/model/brand your interested in first.

Then either watch the sales posts on said forum or put up a WTB ad.

TZ-UK(timefactors) is well recommended.

https://www.blackbough.co.uk/

Owner is a former Sotheby's chap (I've no connection but visited the shop and almost bought one)
