Ooh, also interested in opinions/advice on this too. Can I add in Helsinki too? I'm familiar with Oslo; very nice little city with lots to do. Bloody expensive though.

Have only been to Copenhagen of those two and it's really nice. Easy to get around. Pleasant for a stroll. Some quite quirky bits if you look for them. Is wouldn't say it was a stand-out must see before you die place but certainly nice enough.
Stockholm is more beautifullerer but Copenhagen is more fun , I think. Depends what you are into . Oh and Noma is shutting down I think
Lived in Helsinki. It's quiet and there's not a lot do in the city. When I've had non-Finnish guests visiting, we've struggled to entertain them after 2 days.
Stockholm is great. Wonderful city to visit as a tourist. The galleries, museums, restaurants, bars, beer and general vibe is so much better in terms of quality and variety. The people are friendlier, too.
I've not been to Copenhagen, but I've heard good things (public transport, the beer, the food) and bad things (dirty, looks like a UK city, the cost). I've been to Aarhus, which I loved. It felt like I was in a nice UK coastal city, but with a Dutch twist.
Also look at Tallin, Parnu, Riga, Klaipeda and Vilnius if you're looking at the Baltic region, but worried about cost. As listed, they become cheaper...

I've been to vilnius and klaipeda a few times with work, but that was a while back. Tallin looks interesting. I've flown into copenhagen a few times but always went to malmo (work again).
stockholm currently looking favourite.
Just been to both, much preferred Stockholm (weather was better) usual city highlights in both, Copenhagen has little mermaid/tiviol, etc. Stockholm has vasa museum/ABBA etc. Big plus for me was all the islands around stockholm so many of them for a day out on the water cruising around relaxing

So's Copenhagen, but I preferred Stockholm as a more pleasant place to just wander arund in.
Also, Helsinki is an overnight ferry trip from Stockholm (leaves about 5PM, arrives about 10AM) so a day trip to Helsinki is do-able. The first few hours out of Stockholm are fantastic.
Copenhagen of the two. But May I suggest Iceland? Excellent place for a long weekend.

Also known as the Love Boat. Popular with Finns because there's a duty free and a buffet restaurant which serves beer and wine by the tap, all inclusive. The entertainment is Finnish tango dancing, a light entertainment band/ act and the odd bit of Finnish kareoke. It's fun if you want to get royally drunk. Viking Line is the budget option, Silja Line is the "luxury" option.
It's easy and cheap to fly from Stockholm to Helsinki. The airports are good
From Copenhagen you can take the train across the amazing Oresund bridge for a day out in Malmo, which is a lovely city in itself (and you get two countries for the price of one)
And you get booted off the train for police/border checks, then put back on the next one.
