it hard to stay motivated to push on solo, until Razorrazoo caught up and I had a brief idea to sprint, but my legs had other ideas.

The time coming down round the volcano was what was keeping me going.  I was waiting for the sprint, saw the W/kg go up then drop off and was pretty relieved.

Not sure who else was behind on the road by then as names dropped off and there were a few more behind that dropped and were caught before me.

Thanks for organising that Ivan, now I know what time trialing might feel like. God it was hard work but enjoyable all the same. I crossed the line with T Rolo, Zilog and C Turner at about 54 mins I think. Definitely encourages you to keeep going when you're working together. FTP went up from 220 to 230. Not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing though!

Think I crossed the line at about 59 minutes, I think 4 hounds passed me, was that all of them?

Felt like a hard ride and also felt motivated to push on and try to avoid being caught on the last 10k, good fun.

Going to do a Tour for all ride tomorrow morning, but then riding outside over the weekend I think, but if I get an invite then I might be up for it Saturday

So I've become incredibly lazy as a result of working from home and not having a commute, highlighted this morning by virtue of choosing a 15 minute lie in over getting up early enough to pedal in with tired legs.

So I'm going to start doing a daily half hour or so first thing from Tuesday if anyone wants to join me at about 7.30am let me know and I'll pop out a few invites. Nothing to strenuous planned just a reason to get out of bed at normal time instead of fifteen minutes before I'm due to start work and get my legs turning over before locking away in the office.

(happy to start the invites for commute club earlier than Tuesday but I'm actually in the office until at least then so should be doing my real world pedal out instead so wouldn't actually turn up to my own event [which my real world riding friends will tell you is par for the course])

I think my time might be out if Peesbee finished in 55 min.

@IvanDobski count me in for a weekend 10-30 ride. I've sent you a friend request on Zwift, I'm Craigpin Oop North.

@dangeourbrain I'm zwifting most weekday mornings before work, between 7am and 9am depending on when I get up and length of ride. This morning it was a big one, 52km on Dust in the wind, but usually im between the 25km to 40km mark.

Always happy to ride with someone.

That sounds like a plan, I'll drop an invite over for Tuesday morning if that suits then, about 7.15?

I'm much more likely to make an early meet up than to drag my self onto the turbo at that time if I'm not committed to something and it'll do me good to get back to a routine.

Not sure if it makes more sense to set a short half hour meet then either of us can carry on afterwards if we see fit or to set a loooooong one and just drop out at the appropriate time.

I usually ride for a minimum 1 hour, so anything around that would suit me. I'll try not to hold you up 🙂

I’ll try not to hold you up

It's a fake commute. That comes complete with lack of hurry to get where I'm going and general desire to be riding somewhere else. Sounds like the perfect thing to replicate with an early morning turbo session when the weather is good to me.

I've sent you an invite then oop North, went for sand and sequoias.
No idea what it's like but figured it should be an easy enough intro to the day and it's flat enough that it hopefully shouldn't scare you off and either or both of us can just carry on up the road once the route is done if we fancy.

I've kicked the start back to 7am as that should give me time to finish it and then get to the office if I'm still the cover next week (should be back to working from home by then but you never know).Happy to make it a bit later though if you'd rather.

One of my favourite loops, flat then rolling hills, if you have done it before we can always flip a u turn and do a reverse, it's quite good that way too, I covered a lot of it on my run this morning.

I'd rather start around 7am as I need to be away by 9am, so it suits me.

I've accepted so will see you then...plus any others that want to join for the STW fake commute 🙂

Never done the loop before but happy to do either direction if I can figure out how to reverse it 😉

Well lets do the correct way first, as you haven't done it, we can always do the reverse another time.

Just a quick heads up - a masters dissertation completed as of 1640hrs, 3 bottles of hobgoblin, a bottle of malbec and, in potentiality if not currently in actuality, several available bottles of bourbon, all lead to me to believe I may not be at my (limited) best for tomorrow's TTT.

Sounds like prefect prep for a 4am proof read.

I know different people seem to be checking in on this thread to the other Zwift thread but if some of you fancy a race this evening might be room on the Team Time Trial at 6.30.

It's a hilly route this week but will still be a good laugh and workout.

I'll have to withdraw from this evening's TTT - my "thank god that's finished" drinking has left me not really capable of an hours all-out effort!

my “thank god that’s finished” drinking has left me not really capable of an hours all-out effort!

If it followed the aforementioned plan Ivan I think you're lucky it's left you capable of posting, unless that is, those two lines were an hours all out effort.

Right, I’ve had a **** * week but I think I’m back on an even keel.

Well, sort of.

When’s the next group ride that’ll finish before 6pm?

By heck, I didn't expect any takers for early, let alone hilly!

How does about 8.30am sound?

I’m usually up by 05:30

I'm pretty sure that's late Saturday not early Sunday

Piemonster you should have an invite - Phil, David b and Ivan I can't see you in my list so I'm guessing you're not following me.

I've gone for mountain 8 for now as I've not done it but can change it easy enough if that doesn't suit.

Got that cheers.

Tbh, I find mountain 8 easier than lumpy routes as you settle into a rhythm easily on a sustained climb.

What time you likely to do on Sunday and where are the details, is it a meetup or a Zwift Event?

I've added Zwift recently for some variety to Fulgaz, first two Stages of tour for all I've done, had a tech issue on the second one slow start for that!

Dangeourbrain, can you throw an invite my way for Sunday? Not sure if I can definitely make it at that time but if I can then I'll join you on the start line.

Cheers

8.30am on Sunday, mountain 8,anyone interested let me know and I'll send an invite over.

Invites sent to those I can - Alex not sure if you're the Alex I've invited but someone got one.

Forge I'm happy to send an invite but need you to be following me to do so sorry.

It's tempting kelvin but the timing is rubbish, really I want to be starting in the evening or finished mid morning so I can crack on with other stuff. There's a whole world out there you know!

I just lost my lungs on the Tour group ride...which we all know is a full on race right?? Why dont they just call them races?
The beacon went off at a crazy pace and dropped everyone by miles, I joined a group on the front half and just held on, it was fast all the way round...for me anyway! Haha.
270ish out of 1270 on zwift, 167 on ZP.

Problem with these group rides I never know if I'm trying to keep up with cat B, C or D's.

Exercise done, beer and bbq later. Hoping to join you all in the morning but please let's not do as fast as today 😉
