DrP Route to sky is the one to use for the Alpe, it's the nearest start point.

Level 12 unlock for the Alpe but I think they reduced it for the lockdown

Dangeourbrain - not sure if I'm following you or not...I think so.

Could you drop me an invite? We're camping in the garden today so it will be a good excuse to get up and out in the morning!!

Are you planning on doing it as hidden event, or so we can see everyone else? I will probably get dropped by you lot within 10 mins so would prefer it not too be hidden (it gets very quiet) but it's no big deal either way...

If we end up with a lot of takers I might do hidden but at present there's about 8 of us so I'll keep it visible. If I want empty roads I'll go outside 😉

He he.

You'd be in [s] good [/s] company. I can certainly tell last night's beer was as strong as the label said not the much milder numbers suggested by the taste.

Streaming is looking good - looks a bit faster paced than I was hoping for at this time in the morning so I made the right decision.

Ironically I could have made it because the dog was up earlier than normal.

Checked out the live stream. DrP looked pretty relaxed for someone putting out 250w.

Last day of my recovery week - ramp Test tomorrow to see if I have made any gains then will be back in some group rides next week!

Sorry I missed it, I was hijacked by a bottle of red, only just woke up haha.

Dangeour and me are fake commuting at 7am on Tuesday morning if anyone wants to join, Sand and Sequoias route.

Let Dangeour know if you're interested as he arranged the meetup.

Thanks Brian for organising really enjoyed that, strong pace all round great group. didn’t have much to give that last mile or two especially after the final sprint.

Was a good ride ta folks. My hangover needed that I think.

Is there a record of the live feed at all DrP or is it live only?

Were you working when we caught you or pants down? [metaphorical obviously, I don't want to see that on your live feed]

especially after the final sprint.

There was a sprint?

dunno if it's just live... not sure how twitch works... what I might do is try youtube as I imagine Google has better storage I.e stream live, but also saved to my videos....

when you caught me I was just waiting.... but unlike real life you need 1000s of watts to gain speed quickly!

Yeah thanks all. Someone has to be at the back right? @dangeourbrain dragged me up the mountain and then phill dragged me down the other side. The phrase ‘no one gets left behind unless they die’ was all the motivation I needed!

Had an upgrade on my FTP and took nearly 10% off my best time up to that bloody mast. I shall spend the rest of the day lying under a blanket.

Cheers for sticking with me fellas. I expect I’ll be at least 1% faster next time. Oh and really must sort that drafting thing out, not a skill I seem to have learned (sorry Phil!)

It's not easy to get right, especially on a hill. Trying to judge where I needed to be to hold onto you up the hill was really hard work (good for me mind) every time I dropped a few W to let you catch back on you'd pass me, I'd get caught on your draft then end up having to put about 400 out to get unstuck. I'd zip off up the hill again and repeat 🙂

To be honest a "draft class" if we. Could figure out a way of doing it would be a very good and useful social ride format.

Yeah it was pretty hard work at the back as well! I did think I should try and slow down as I got close but I was kind of in that stubborn I’m not going to back off mode. I did see your numbers go barmy which looked like the worse kind o interval training!

Did a bit better up to the mast mainly as that was all I had to give!

I didn’t realise how much ‘help’ a draft is on the alp.  A ‘draft class’ would be great. I’m always 2-3 seconds behind the trainer I reckon..

I'm in for Tuesday please assuming oop North doesn't make me work too hard in the morning weeksy.

Yeah the trainer lag is very annoying. I must take it off 3 second average and see if it helps with that.

I'll have a think on how to do a draft class and try organise one if folks are up for it. I guess it'll end up like a 40 strong TTT but I'll have to have a think.

I am having a couple days rest done a lot of miles these three days and Wednesday AM is Stage 3 of the Tour for All and I want to do better than my shocker of a Stage 2.

I will look to join another group ride though as really good motivation and encourages to push harder than I would on a solo ride.

6-7 I think we got last time.

Final lap turned into a tempo power fest. I just sat on Phil's wheel while he blew everyone apart with 4.5w/kg, luckily I got it all right and hung in his draft.

Just think how hard the poor sod on the front would have to pull to keep number 40 turning pedals. You could probably coast up the alpe if we got it right!

Hahahahaha...not much chance of that seeing the speeds you guys were doing this morning, I'm a slow cat C.
I had to have a day off after pushing hard in yesterdays tour ride, tomorrow I'm going to try put some miles on the ceramic mission, either TT or MTB.

I'll need to take it easy and I'm going to have to bail at half past as I've to be in the office in the morning so need to allow time to make my self presentable and ride to work too (which also means not blowing my self up on Zwift before I leave the house!).

Obviously you'll be free to carry on if that suits?

After my ‘when will this climb be over?’ mountain experience yesterday, I thought I’d do an easy London flat ride with the ZZRC crew. Two issues, it was London 8 (so Box hill. Twice) and it’s never at the advertised pace. I ended up going ‘full squirrel’ on the second climb up box. I am now putting the box into bollox’d 😉

So just getting my excuses in super early for tomorrow. All that’s left is to find that clip of Marlon Brando ‘I could have been a contender….’

Finally debugged the trainer, the belt had moved so it was rubbing on the internal frame, dropped 50W off my efforts which hurt. It needs replacing once they are back in stock but it will do for now.

Hopefully should be back on it this week now it's sorted. Did Tour for all race today and it was ok.

So i have good news and bad..

Tonight will still be running.... i just may not ride it... But i'll still keep the event live and active of course. Just may not leave the start line.

Been invited out for a responsible ride with my boss, so off out for that shortly, don't think i'll have the time, inclination or legs for sprint intervals i'm afraid...

But you all know where the 1.5km (1.0km) banner is now to sprint from anyway 😉

Thanks all, 3rd sprint I was up to 5th but tweaked something. Had a little go on the 4th but the hamstring said No. Thought it best to bale before doing any damage.

I’ve managed to get to 11w/kg for a few seconds. Before doing ^^ rides best I had was about 8! So all good motivating stuff. Even if I do feel a bit sick afterwards!

Honestly after those sprints, I’m almost pining for the climb up to the transmitter mast again!

I'll debate an entry for Thurs evening as quite frankly I can't be bothered with the wtrl sign up stuff for the TTT event, that's all getting a bit serious and I can't be bothered with serious. So may do Thursday evening group ride.

If not, it will likely be a 4pm on Friday. Sat I'm planning on going outside

Found that tough tonight but I did a ramp test yesterday and set a new PB of 268w. I thought I wasn’t great tonight but got my fastest lap time around classique and two fastest time’s on the sprint section so wasn’t that bad! I dropped in the little hill and lost the group on the 5th lap and couldn’t catch up so cruised for a bit. I think without weeksy the pace was more relentless as there was no one to pull us back. Still doing 200-250w after each sprint to stay in the group.
