Considering buying one of these...

Do any of you own one and what are your thoughts/impressions of ride quality etc?

They seem to get decent reviews and are unbelievable value for money for the parts on it.

Threre is precious little in terms of reviews out there - I've been scouring over the past few days. But I can't imagine they'll be crap. The closest alternative, which could be as good if not slightly better value, is the Canyon Strive Al8.0.

A few people seem to have bought them, but probably not enough to get a reliable impression - you know what people are like when they've got a shiny new bike.

But other YT bikes have had great reviews, the geometry looks excellent and the spec is v good - so I'd just take a punt on it if I were you.

Give it a little time, as people have only had theirs for about 10 days now!

Dirt have one on test for a review here:Dirt magazine Yt wicked

And it made their 2013 Dirt 100 list so expect the views to be favorable ๐Ÿ˜€

Here's a link to the wicked 150 tested earlier this year, the main gripes seamed to be to do with a lack of front and rear suspension damping - Wicked 150

Took a punt on my Canyon Strive with precious few reviews; very happy with it. On paper the YT looks very similar, obviously with a slightly different rear suspension layout. I considered it but didn't like the idea of the Bos suspension; I've had Fox before, know it works and know how to service it + Mojo are on hand for anything I can't handle.

Im sure one of the magazines had a 150/160 for long term test. MBR or MBUK...seemed to think it was good from what I read.

I've had one for about 10 days and am currently within the 'shiny new thing' category. Not managed to give it a decent thrash yet other than on the local Aston Court trails, thanks to the floods et al. First impressions, coming from an SC Blur LT2 (which it replaces) are:

- Long, lowish, slack. Very neutral geom, feels natural.
- Well balanced, stable (thanks to long wheelbase) and feels planted.
- Mine's a large and comes in around 31lbs including mud and pedals.
- The BOS suspension is very supple, linear but with plenty of compression to hold it up. Surprisingly efficient to pedal. The wiper seals on the forks are super tight and I've had to get rid of pneumatic locking in the lowers twice now with a cable tie. A couple of decent rides to bed everything in and that problem should disappear.

I'll give it a decent thrash in the Quantocks and FOD this weekend as a proper test.

I looked at these this week, as im just getting back into cycling properly again after a mini sabbatical riding bmx's and being far too busy to justify a new mtb.
Does anyone know if it is truly limited, or if theyll do another batch?
The BOS suspension really floated my boat, whereas the normal 160 im not a fan of the kit.

Loving the rise of European brands. Will we see the day that SC/Spesh etc are marginalised here as outsiders???????
