I'm in the Genesis Bikes catalogue. And the new Madison clothing one too.

And, my wife once borrowed Michael Bonney's girlfriend's bike.

I went skinny dipping with Jacqui Phelan, wife of WTB founder Charlie Cunningham. I also got rescued by Charlie Kelly on Mt Tam.

I know loads of people that work in Formula 1, and Mark Webber once fell off a bike.

Emma Pooley (Olympic silver medalist) has been known to visit the shop I work at (never buys anything as she's sponsored to high heaven).

My girlfriend's flatmate is James Dobbin, 2006 National hillclimb champion.

I once owned a BMX owned by legendary flatland rider Phil Dolan (who was given it by his then sponsor Fly, sold it to almost-as-legendary flatlander Effraim Catlow when he started his own company, who then sold it to me. I then sold it to some random ebayer).

My sister-in-law's family live in the next town over from where Jeff Jones makes overpriced titanium stuff (I went over there for the wedding, I didn't know he was there at the time or I would have gone had a look for something to pinch).

I have tenuous links to lots of other famous people, Bill Gates, Bono, Robert Duvall, the guy who played Father Jack, Franz Ferdinand, anyone who was in the original Italian Job, England defender Matthew Upson (that's football BTW), Bill Pullman, Bob Geldof, and Matt Groening, to name but a few.

I used to live with a lad who used to work with David Baker's wife. That's pretty tenuous.

Oh and Peaty lent me his bike for me to ride on my Stag Do whilst I waited for my bike to arrive from the States.

My track pump has been used by a Paris-Roubaix winner.
Magnus Backstedt borrowed it at Newport track once.

Saw Jo Burt in a bike shop at the end of my road in Brighton in 1996 - does that count?

... I seem to remember overhearing him talking about his school daze. Random.

I was staying at the same place one weekend as the guys testing the PRST-1 - before it went into full production about 10 years ago.

EDIT - Oh and I once had lunch with Rebecca Romero - who told me that the Greek writing on the back of her Athens Medal read

" Congratulations on winning your Olympic Silver medal. Better luck next time"

That reminds me. My road is quite bike orientated.

As well as me (holding my own dialled bikes/dialled mike love-in) and Steve Worland's brother (already mentioned) we also have Alice Monger Godfrey who lives there with her parents, or does when she's not in Belgium with her pro-roadie team.

Oh, and some other bloke who orders stuff from chain reaction and CRC always quote his address first rather than mine when i order stuff from them.

Mick Hannah and his dad called round the other day. Asked if I wanted to go for a ride.

My brother rides one of Adam Hansen's old bikes.

I have actually handled a S3X hub.

I went into an Evans outlet once.

nobody spoke to me.

You too, huh? Thought that was just me!!!

Worked for nearly a year as workshop manager at DDG/Onza. Everything which came out of there in that period was built by either me, or my whipping boy John.

It's all about the stories though! What's the best one?

Did Dave Bianchi once borrow a track pump?

edit: not meant to sound condescending at all!
