Most of the weld looks 'ok'(not good) but did they get the tea boy to weld in the top gusset afterwards?

My garden gate's got cleaner looking welds
especially on that nasty looking lump welded inbetweens tubes A, B and C

Oh no - where's the Seat stay - I can't find the sticker for it. Does that mean there is none

My camera phone is poor to say the least.

The colour is lovely - like the man from Del Monte painted it!

Overall very impressed - seems to be awesome value.

That's gotta be a second... The weld on the top/down tube gusset looks well gash...

I believe 'pigeon shit' is the correct terminology... 😀

Whatever happened to quality control?

So, lets see.
Ragleys have bad welding, crap bolt on cable guides, stickers you put on yourself which won't last 5 minutes and some say they look like gates?

God, that's a close shave for On One.

Sweet - the news is we are getting a replacement frame sent out. The welding is not up to standard.

Very attentive service from Hotlines and Shedfire! Thanks.

There's a difference between bad welding and ugly welding, although I am able to do both at once.

Look at the strain in the shop assistants arm. That frame is heavy or the shop assistant needs to strengthen up 😉

I hope that frame rides well because its never gonna win any beauty contests.

So, is the sub-standard frame going cheap?

Things I liked: externally butted seattube (thicker at top weld area). Avoids waggly seatpost & snapped frame caused by internal butting.

Eh. Hmm. It's shaped quite a lot like an Inbred. Um.... Oh, the cable guides are OK. Eh.... well, that's it.

Didn't like: "paint" (dried yoghurt), "welds", gussets, strange 3-finger RH chainstay-BB plate, not replaceable dropout, DIY stickers with no covering lacquer, price.

Speaking as a man with 5 On-One/P-X bikes I love: "Nah".

Controversi-Al.

Nice marketing mark and loving my pannier.

I can't believe folk go on about aesthetics of welds. Idiots. Your bike is NOT A VANITY PROJECT YOU DULLARDS. These are welds:

On-one's? Each to their own. Have to say I wonder how you can have 5 of them that are significantly different (the only point in owning different bikes to me)

it's not so much the quality as the fact that there seem to be some missing from the gusset!

"what colour would sir like his new bike in?"
"sick, please"

in that case to clarify, pigeon shit most usually refers to welds that are porous (for a variety of reasons)

gutted if the pics are gone.

im guessing this is the steel one that everyone is wetting themselves over - much more interested in the ally one personally

What's this bike meant for? Why does it have a big gusset anyway?

Anyway, to answer the "how can you have 5 On-Ones (and P-X) that are sufficiently different to be worth owning?":

853 sliding dropout SS
DN6 sliding dropout geared (wifie's)
Pompino fixed/SS commuter/C-X
Kaffenback geared commuter
456 : Bike of the Week - Allan’s Monstercross

OK?

We’ve recalled the frame from The Bike Chain, replaced it with a new one, and now have our first “slight second”

Wow that's quick. Mark can you show us pics of the replacement?

It's sold now. Bummer. I'd liked to have tested that for them. 17st round Golspie/Laggan's trails for a few days would give it a decent work out I reckon.

First impressions very favourable indeed. Climbs well and is awesome pointing downhill, need time to get used to the slacker head angle on the flat as it's different to my race bike, but really pleased so far.
