I came across a group on a London to Paris ride today who were clearly lost, so I offered my help, being a local an' all. I looked at their route map and offered to get them exactly back on route. So we all pedalled off and came to a junction where there was a route arrow pointing back the way we came. Queue lots of confusion. But despite my help they decided to head back where the arrow took them, i.e back to the point they were lost! FM!
I'll look out for them in Manchester ๐
Maybe it was Paris to London.
Didn't occur to them that some locals might be having "fun" with the signs then?
They were following the usual little orange arrows, told them that they were commonly used for other sportives in the area and don't get taken down so could be an old one.
