So another manufacturer finally agrees suspension was sussed out years ago?
Lovely is that, not that I'll ever spend so much on a bike without an electric motor.
I thought that frame only price was "optimistic" for a Yeti- looks like its £4699 not £3699..

It’s not a Horst link, or any other 4 bar. It’s not even a linkage driven 4 bar like an Enduro or Demo or Knolly. It’s a true 6 bar.
interesting setup, similar I think to the old system Felt used back around 2007, which of course isn't 19 years ago...honest.

At least it's on brand. IE ridiculously and unnecessarily complicated and will last about 10 minutes before it needs servicing which will be a major pita and no doubt hugely expensive.

Only owned the one Yeti, a heavily discounted (it occasionally happens) SB95 frame. Loved how it rode. Drilled the ST for stealth dropper routing. Sold it before it needed the expensive Switch unit replaced as I got the fear...

Yep, but nothing is new under the sun.
And it's all the same purported benefits, that the rear dropout's rotation, the axle path, and the shock movement can all be manipulated independently. Which you can with 4-bars, it just means you move the pivots around so your horst morphs into a DW/maestro or split pivot, or VPP.

Same. I had a second hand SB140LR and it'd already had a new switch link when I bought it. It also had a crack. Still brilliant bike tho, glad I owned it, could not ever see me buying a full price/new one. Benji is right I'm sure tho and they'll sell loads.
I also have a Revel Rascal with TEN (count 'em) pivots as part of the Canfield Balance Formula suspension design. Best off road climbing bike I ever had. But again it was pretty much a dry weather bike!

I had one of those, not sure if it's the same though.
It was very pretty but did not survive contact with the real world.
It is boring being on a forum where everyone is so old and jaded (and rarely does actual mountain biking) that they can only criticise. It’s very very expensive, probably better suited to drier climates but every single review of the behaviour of the Switch Infinity suspension was great, and every review of the Sixfinity suspension has been even better.
And you can’t make a 4 bar behave the same as a 6 bar; and there are so many variables with a 6 bar design it’s highly unlikely that one will behave like another without endless iterations of R&D so things converge (or they’re copied). I don’t believe there is some great MTB conspiracy or everyone is enjoying the Emperor’s new clothes…
I’m not going to buy one but it seems a cool bike and I like the effort they’ve made with all the adjustments and daring to go long (and have longer available) on the chainstays.
