Sorry, I did a bit of an intro but it didn't save... Anyway, I've spent the past week riding this and have really enjoyed it. It rides just like an Orange should but benefits from that new motor system and all of the possibilities it offers in terms of tuning. I was really impressed with how it handled rocky terrain, how quiet it is and how easily it wants to get into the air. I would say at 178cm I am pushing it size wise on the large, but I did swap t a shorter stem and 780mm bars which helped, that said a medium would have been better. Really good bike, and I think it will do well for them!
Been interested to see some details on this.
I'm A) an Orange lover, and B) an E-Bike lover but I've struggled to get onboard with Oranges idea of what an ebike is or should be.
This ones better, and the use of the DJI system to be 'on trend' makes sense but I cannot help but think they are hugely missing an opportunity here.
If Orange had gone with one of the lighter and slimmer systems, they could have really nailed the design. You could fit a TQ 580 wh battery pretty much into the volume of one of the regular, non-powered Oranges, the motor is barely bigger than a BB shell.
a TQ HPR60, ~130-150mm travel, lightweight electric trail bike would be peak Orange. This still just seems a bit fat and under developed.
And then, as mentioned, why are they not doing it frame only!? I'd consider it then! Other people are doing DJI bikes frame only!
Oh an electric filing cabinet
Defo on my list in the future when I have the money spare. Looks decent to me, much better than plenty of e-bikes.
By putting the fastest motor into the ugliest bike Orange have at least ensured that people won't have to look at it for long.
Just watched the video and think it's a decent review.

the ugliest bike
I'm not going to say it is a thing of beauty but ugliest? In my opinion there is some notable competition for that title, the latest of which is the Levo X 😱
Have a bucket at the ready
Some people just like trolling Orange threads with negativity for some reason? My favourite was a few months back when the troll criticised how they rode before admitting he'd never ridden one!
I'm biased as a Stage Evo owner - I love the way they look and ride, and most of all I love what they stand for - "handbuilt in Halifax" surely has to be way better than "factory built in Taiwan and shipped most of the way around the world" - great to support UK manufacturing and for those who've never ridden one, give it a go - you might just be surprised
I've had 4 Orange's so I'm qualified to say they're ugly as sin.
Back in the day when all bikes were fragile shite Orange had the advantage of being simple, reliable, easy to live with. They were even quite reasonably priced.
Now there's dozens of other more desirable choices that work better, look better and are much cheaper to buy.
No full power ebike looks good, but the folded aluminium approach unfortunately doesnt do this any favours.
Its a shame becuase on paper Orange should be ideally suited to the concept.
The single pivot suspension, the raised chainstays giving clearance, the ability to quickly change design to match the ever changing motor standards (versus being on a 2 year back order from a taiwan factory).
Not that I'm currently in the market for an ebike, but that Orange doesn't look any worse than previous (non-e) models, which were always a bit bogging so I'd definitely consider one if I was.
I also think that, like many other folk, it's reasonable that aesthetics sway my bike purchases. There's nothing wrong with the view that some things are simply more "desirable" based on looks alone.
FWIW, I don't care if it's built in Halifax or Hangzhou when I'm spending anywhere near that amount and it's just a fact that there are other bikes that are better value for money.
Each to their own I guess but I much prefer the Orange look to plenty of bloated carbon things.
