Hi

I have a new frame on the way, with a XX44 headtube. I am a bit frazzled looking at the options for headsets - does it have to be semi integrated?

Can anyone recommend one?

cheers

Kev

Depends on the frame, you may not get enough fork clearance with a Semi-integrated headset.

I use one of these on my Genesis Lattitude 853: Nukeproof

Your frame manufacturer should specify which one depending on frame and fork.
I use a nukeproof one on my nukeproof mega.

If it's a Genesis you will almost certainly need an external cup lower otherwise the fork crown can smack into the frame.

Good luck contacting Genesis, they are not well known for responding to customer queries.

The Nukeproof ones are good. Been using them on our XX44 test bikes.

to be fair the alpitude is a great frame, been really pleased with mine, but the vendor purported to have stock when he did not, and i bought parts like the chainguide based on info on the genesis website which was inaccurate, both of which irked a bit. also i've tried to tell genesis about the inaccuracy on their site wrt chainguide standard which they've ( so far ) ignored.
anyway. it's a nice, relatively light frame, which'll handle a good length of fork. it seems pretty springy and fun. ๐Ÿ˜€
