XTR N/W chain ring question

I need to replace my chain ring on a XTR M9000 crankset. I know they are 96BCD and I know that XT M8000 are 96 BCD but are they interchangeable? I'm not stretching to a XTR chainring( I know ,tight barst*rd). Currently there's a Blackspire one fitted but criggle doesn't have that option at the mo. If a XT one won't work what else is out there that's pocket friendly , black and 32T.

The bolts/bolt holes are smaller. I get mine on eBay from China. Currently running a kore branded one that was about £13.

This thread set up by @northwind might help.

Yes, they don't unfortunately.

Are you using the 4 xtr tabs? Or screwing into the chainring?

My bikes all have xtr m9020 cranks. They are really good but due to lack of chainring options I'm thinking of swopping out to xt cranks. I think the last one I bought during covid was an absolute black and it was £60!

Currently running a kore branded one that was about £13.

@uselesshippy do you have a link? I've a few failed purchases that didn't fit.

Not looked for your specific needs, but just bought one complete and one partial drivetrain (SLX mech, XT shifter, SLX 10-51t cassette, SLX chain for both, plus SLX cranks/ring for one)

Found Merlin to be cheaper than Chiggle for most of it - cranks were Ebay (£65) and chains both from Halfords

This is what I'm currently using. M7 bolts and integrated threads. £60.

If anyone has any links to cheaper chain rings with integrated m7 threads please let me know.

Thanks

Superstarcomponents have them but only coloured ones left and oval black ones.

If 34T is any good, I’ve got an unused Gamut XTR specific one and a lightly used 34T Shimano XTR one (the tall square profile teeth rather than thick/thin).

Let me know if either are of interest?

We are discontinuing our range. There’s a 40% off code on front page while they last. Hope rings also

just never sold in big enough volumes to bother stocking, so once they are gone they are gone. <br /><br />

Thanks for the impute. I have ordered a Renthal 1XR 4-Arm 96BCD Chainring 2016 Shimano XTR (M9000) & XT (M8000) fitment. I'm sceptical as to whether it will work. I will report back if it does or doesn't Renthal ring

@superstarcomponents

Does this chainring have threaded m7 inserts so you don't need the xtr tabs?

https://www.superstarcomponents.com/en/raptor-chainring-96bcd-asymetric--narrow-wide.htm

At the bottom it's got a list and it says

96 BCD x4 Asymetric pattern M7 thread - New Shimano XTR M9000 M9020

But not sure if that's for this product, it's a bit confusing.

Thanks
