I have XTs on my trail bike and really like them so was considrering them foe my dh bike. Has anyone got a pair on their dh bike and how do they get on with them? The saints and zee set ups areso very expensive hence considering thr xt/slx's.
You talking about brakes?
Had old SLX ones on a DH bike and they were great, with 203mm rotors. Can't imagine the new ones being any worse!
Put slx ice techs on my scalp to go to Morzine last year, they were faultless and haven't skipped a beat since. Really powerful and didn't fade once.
I'm told the only real difference is weight?
The SLX don't have bite point adjustment, which is not very effective in my experince with XT's
Oops I should have said brakes! I agree with thebite point adjust on the xt being useless! Im fed up of my v2s not being all I want them to be. Will look into slx as a replacement.
The bite point adjust works fine if you bleed the brake with it screwed right out.
Surprised by how expensive the Zee brakes are, seems like a misfire. SLX is more than good enough tbh, only drawback is the nonreplacable levers if you break one, you have to replace the whole lever assembly. Not the end of the world mind, they're not that expensive. Deore's good too, tbh.
Had both, other than differences already stated and the bolt instead of hair type clip holding the pads in there is no difference however from Rose there is almost no difference in price (about £10-£20) so may as go XT or whichever you think looks better.

<-- What he said. It took me a few goes to figure this out with my XTs.
I will try screwing the bite point screw out and bleed tosee if it makes a diff. When the screwisscrewed all the way in does that mean minimum lever throw to get bite point?
ST mag highly rate M666s. And from experience I agree.
