just bought one and having a few problems 🙁 first I bought a middleburn 36 t chain ring and is in line with the wear plate indicator in the center and I have put a new sram 971 chain on . when I took it for a spin I can feel a little tick or rubbing noise and its annoying ! first can you use a middleburn chain ring as a single ring and second could it be the new chain with a stiff link etc ??? I have used the little spacers as well for the bottom bracket !

Does it happen in all gears?
I've just fitted one and with the chainring central in the guide the chain [i]just[/i] rubs on the guide in the biggest sprocket at the back.
rubbing is normal, that's why its called a wear plate
