Hi Millzy, there are a fair few coming up over the next few months actually. Wiggle are doing their own wevents in the local area - check out This Site.

There is also the Goodwood Spring Challenge in April.

Have you done much riding around here since moving up?

You weren't in / around Plymouth by any chance were you?

Look up Gorrick races. I just did my first event with them yesterday (brass monkeys) and it was very good. About an hours drive from Southampton though, think most of the other ones are similar distances.

I know Looe, used to go there quite a bit. Were you on the cyclescene forum - your username seems familiar? Ftw is for the win...

Solent Uni?

I think you mean The Dimstitute ๐Ÿ˜‰

Don't know about the Dimstitute, but Scumpton Uni always used to have a really active bike club.

Always worth keeping in touch with http://www.spambiking.co.uk/events.asp for some great distance race/events up on the Plain.

Soton uni was really good but didn't someone on here say that last year too a nose dive? I'm not sure on that one but there are a fair few uni members on here.

Not done a Soggy Bum since leaving Plymouth but I used to do them.

Interestingly I occasionally I go through southampton uni's main campus and over the years since I've left (getting on for 10 now!) I've noticed the level of significantly attractive people increasing. Now this could be down to me getting older and finding young 18-21 yr old girls more attractive than I used to or that in my experience clever people tend to be less blessed in the looks dept (or making yourself look nice), and therefore the entry requirements for the uni have lowered....

That's sure to fire up the pc brigade.

Still think the uni has a good bike club, I regular see 5-10 riders of uni age down there on a weds afternoon. One or two of them post on here I believe.

im at the Solent Uni, which yes i guess you could say was the Dimstitute, i was offered a rather appealing offer by one of the lectures here which basically meant i could spend my last year of A-Levels doing hardly any revision or any proper work. Was useful because it meant i could work lots and raise funds for my travels!

its not that much of a bad Uni, i would say that half the people that are here were also offered a similar offer to me, and therefore a re mildly intelligent but spent their last year of A-levels doing nothing, the other half of people are people who are taking silly courses like "wardrobe studies, or football studies" you can imagine what theyre like,

The solent Uni itself hasn't got a MTB Club, im part of the Rowing club here which has a pretty intense train schedule, so i don't really have time for the bike, but i am intending on entering a few races!
