Do you mean racing? Or just riding around? What's wrong with what you have?

what njee said...d you mean you want to start racing or just ride a bit of XC, in which case:

XC = Cross Country, I assume you ride your bike across the countryside?

From my experience most 'XC' riders are actually just fit and fast riders, they do a bit of everything (except full on DH, although a lot do dabble...) where as 'non-XC*' riders are just the ones who can't be arsed to ride uphill with as much gusto, or don't have the time or inclination to invest in training, it's pretty much all the same terrain though...

If you want to try a bit of XC racing then I'd suggest you enter a fun category on what you already have and give it a go, you'll realise very quickly if you have the competitive urge and want to give it a proper go with a proper racy bike made of string and glue....

*DH racers excluded, they are normally fit and fast on any terrain as well, they just focus their time on the going down.
