A nice bright sunny afternoon on a fairly suburban hill in Telford (Snedshill, if anyone knows it) just to stretch the legs for the first time in weeks. But it was a tad chilly out of the sun
Local loop from the back door, drying out in a few spots, deep disgusting slop for most but it though.

Made the sensible decision to have a 2nd cuppa in the cafe while the mother of all hailstorms passed over 👍
Well, it was certainly baltic on my way into work this morning. Fridays are usually my NWD, but I was helping a colleague out with interviews. Decent start to the day, extended 24km commute around the outskirts of north Leeds. Chilly & blustery, but golden.
First ride into work for ages (Mrs Noise gets up early to swim so thought I might as well join in with some exercise). Was a bit chilly on the way in at 6:30am but a bit better on the way home 12 hours later (apart from the head wind - tail wind getting to work was cool). Recently rebuilt not-quite-XC-not-quite-gravel bike performed well.
EDIT. Has the photo uploader had a rework during the recent update?
Didn’t take any photos this morning… but some from the commute on Thursday. Actually quite painful on the eyes riding into the sun at 6am!
Not from today, but Thursday.... It's been hammering it down last night and it's 4°C outside but feels like -1°C with wind-chill.
54km around Lac d'Orient, just east of Troyes.
Absolutely glorious in the Cotswolds today. Beautiful sun along with a delicious coldness.
Perfect for some mathematics.
It's nice in the shire, sunny, but cool 😎
Excellent ride out on the SS Monster Cross Krampus, testing out the gearing for next weekends Battle on the Beach.
I counted the rings in the trees in the pic, and they're about 85-90 years old.
Also came across a leetle hole in the road 😆
After a mostly dry ride on Wednesday, normal service resumed after a couple of days of Rain/wind/hail and sleet. Sun was out which always makes a difference. Pretty sniper-y roots and quite a lot of mud and puddles. All good fun tho and a fine pint to finish.
After telling everyone how well I was riding on my new Bronson, today I was the proverbial newly born deer with an ear infection.

Wrote a thing about the Bronson last night. Beer was my muse. This may at least partially explain todays performance 🙂
Lovely and sunny in the Peak District today. Some slop but not too bad as it's been dry for a week. Well apart from torrential rain on Thursday evening.
Had to cut the ride short as the eldest spannered himself on the bike, resulting in a broken collar bone. But was in and out of A&E in under two hours, so top service.
Cheers. 22 and fractured the other one about 7 years ago on another OTB. That took 4 weeks to heal.
However this one, opposite side to last time, apparently needs manually setting as it's fully broken. So we'll see how that goes when the fracture clinic gets in touch with him.
Trip to the jumps this morning. Cold start but lovely and sunny ☀️
Jumps were running absolutely prime - fast but grippy and no mud. Other trails also doing much better than expected given rain on Thursday. A few slick bits but really not too bad.
Was happy with myself at the jumps, not done any significantly sized ones for quite a while -but soon got back into it and felt like I was riding well 👍
Warm at bowhill, few hours spent clearing a trail that had a load of brash over it from felling.
Then rewalked the trail as I lost my car keys, 15miles from home with Mrs 100th in brum. Found them thankfully.
Out with the kids today, a rare ride where they didn't argue! Finished with some no brakes laps down the "hill" on our dog walking field. They think it's massive anyway 🙂 looking at this I think I might have to get my son a 24" wheel bike soon, looks way too big on this one now!
Oh and I did my best ever wheelie today as well 🙂 no pics though. Every ride with the kids ends up being a wheelie practice ride for me as well. After all these years of never being able to do above 2 pedalstrokes, something finally clicked for me today. Starting to get a good feeling of the balance point and suddenly feel like I have some sort of control over It. It was still only about 8-9 pedalstrokes but that's quite an achievement for me!
Plenty of gravelistas out on the lanes round Stroud today and fair play to them, it was pretty greasy out there, but despite our best efforts we didn't manage to persuade anyone to ride the ford we were parked by when we had our lunch.
Edit to add; we got loads of cheery waves from the gravel and road riders, way more than we get when on MTBs, what's that all about?
No ride pictures as such, but a decent 22 mile ebike ride, 10.30am mid ride beers in Bakewell. Cold but not that muddy and just beat the rain
I must learn to not open my gob
Across on the ferry as the sun set and out to Durlstone and back via the chippy in Swanage last night, and a bit of Blandford forest and Okeford today, 3 rides in 3 days and the bike hasn’t needed washing!

Well, that might have looked nice in the photo, but must have been one of the most miserable, coldest day I’ve ever been on a bike. It was so bad, I made it to the top and then turned tail and legged it home.
Leg powered ride
Opposed to?
Quick local jaunt this morning. Dry, windy and not too cold. Trails were - erm - interesting. Some bits dry and fast, some muddy and sticky, some wet and slippy. Some trails were all three in one confusing, unpredictable but fun package.

I wish we had green lanes in Scotland. I'd almost trade the Right to Roam for it.
No pics as cheapskate member/aren't paying for a magazine I wouldn't read and this abomination of a website but another ace around Boltby Forest, 2nd week on the bounce. Even better now the cafe at High Paradise Farm has reopened for the season...
Are there any good routes you could share around Boltby please? It's on my list to explore (done a few bits from Sutton Bank a few years ago but pretty sure we barely scratched the surface).
First ride out on my On-one Huntsman with more than one gear Sunday. Been suffering with hip bursitis for a while and singlespeeding really aggravates it so I bought a 10sp Shimano Deore groupset from Aliexpress for £50. All working well and the bonus that I will now get a lot more use out of this bike as tended to only ride SS when conditions were too bad to ride the nice bikes.
I thought I knew my Suffolk bridleways fairly well but I'm struggling to place @sandwich location there? My brain is saying somewhere near Waldringfield above the Deben but I may be way off.

There's definitely one or two. We rode some near to the border on a Himalayan trip a while back.
But yeah, I love Scotland but that would be a fly in the ointment.
@garage-dweller That's heading South toward Hemley from Mill Road out of Waldringfield

Thanks. May well take a spin over that way on our next bike equipped visit to see my dad who is just a few miles away from there and combine with a cheeky pit stop at the "Bush" or the Fox, which would fit nicely.
