Would you trust this seaspost for "normal" xc riding?

Nice decking! Same as ours.

Nasty scratch in that post though Paul!

Just trying to see how light I can get without injury, Cheers Paul.

Time to look mainstream

That looks strangely identical to other "branded" products from the likes of Superstar Components. I have one on the Onion and have no reason to complain about it.

The one that is in paulsoxos photo is a different model altogether.

paulo - did that have some scoring before it broke ?

(seems odd that it didn't go backwards, given the layback)

Yeah, quite a few Exotic products crop up under other brands- for instance the Forks turn up with big Nukeproof stickers and a bigger price tag, and the quick releases are the same as the Superstar ones. They've been getting a good rep over on Bikeradar, quite a few users but no breakages as yet, but who knows, they might all break tomorrow ๐Ÿ˜‰

Must have slipped during ther ride, as there was a gouge up the back, was clamped with the 'c' showing. It snapped right through with only the front holding it together, which came apart taking it out of the frame.

I snapped it with an arse/saddle interface when going over a speed hump out of the saddle

forks, bars and stem all fine by the way!

I may have over tightened the seat-clamp, maybe the frame had a burr inside, myabe 17stone is too fat for a carbon post!

I would still use other CC stuff

They're heavier than a number of other things out there, I'd say it'd be fine. Cheap.
