I've just received a bike I won off e-bay. I plan to keep the wheels & frame and resell the rest.

the frame is a cervelo s1 and has the crack under the seatpost collar.

not sure what to do - its an aluminium frame so would it be a easy fix? or should I contact the seller??

?????

That is ****ed, looks like it's had a respray as well so it might have some hidden gems as well.

EDIT: They had the balls to sell that as in great condition, beggars belief it really does.

send it back for sure. If you check the Cervelo forum you will see this is a common issue on S1.

That's outrageous - there is no way the seller could not have known about that.

Send it back and hope the seller is good and doesn't claim you overtightened it and did the damage.

abort, send it back, I would argue you shouldn't even pay postage either way.

Only option is to raise a dispute with Ebay. It's an annoying process, especially for the seller, but should get you your money back in the end (after about 2 weeks).

If that's a "win" I wouldn't like to see a "lose" ๐Ÿ˜•

Give the seller a chance to rectify the situation - they might not known the crack was there. But only give them a day to offer a refund, then go via ebay/paypal, thats what they are there for.

He will have to prove it didn't have a crack before it was sent with a timestamped photo.

I suspect (just a suspicion) that the seller KNEW it was cracked and was relying on the buyer not noticing it in time for a refund!

given the time frame (excuse the pun) he was, quite rightly, banged to rights and has refunded no quibble because he was caught out!
