My 27 year old M frame has cracked. Went to get them this morning and then frame is in two pieces. 27 years isn't a bad innings all the same.

Anyway, does anyone know if the design changed at any point? Or rather the lens fitment? These were the original folding arms ones and at some point they changed to a fixed frame. I'm not sure what latter changes there were.

I might just plump for something a bit more modern but I've three lenses and I particularly like the VR28 ones. Would seem a shame not to keep them.

They've been replaced with the M2, which has a slightly different lens fitting. I seem to remember thinking I could probably modify a new lens to fit the original frame, which would suggest that the old lenses would be a loose fit, probably too loose to stay in place.

I'd drop Oakley an email and ask about repair. They tend to go above and beyond with things like this.

Even before the M2, there was a slight change in the radius of the lens and brow mount.

I have a few mounts that cracked and ended up sending all my lenses and mounts to Oakley who sorted them and replaced all the obsolete parts for me.

Is that still the case? I was under the impression that their customer service had diminished somewhat since they were acquired by Luxottica

I think I have a few pairs of those in the loft. I stopped wearing them after a crash in Verbier and the helmet pushed the lens into my cheek. If you can't get them sorted I will see what I have. Had a few different colours

Many thanks all, I'll give Oakley a message, see if anything can be done. Might end up a bit Triggers broom 😀.

Tracey if you do find anything I'd be interested 👍

I will look in the garage loft in the morning. It's like Aladdin's cave

If there is no luck I have a pair of similarly aged m frames and could take the lenses if a price could be agreed.
