Saw it happening from miles off.
The cyclist was using a cycle path, not a lane adjacent to the road.
The path goes around a corner and ends. At which point you walk across a dual carriageway to pick up the path on the other side.
As he cornered he did a hand signal to turn right and without looking cycled straight across two lanes of 70mph traffic.
The cars must have seen him as you could see brake smoke so the impact was reasonably low.
The bloke was 30/40s and seemed clueless. Frightening really that some folk don't have a clue.
I'll leap to a conclusion? I can only assume that he doesn't drive, probably not been cycling long and has zero road knowledge.
Thankfully his hand signal must have alerted the drivers, it did me. Otherwise it might have been goodnight Vienna.

Was he hurt?
I used to make a lot of dumb moves like that as a kid.. Then I learned to drive and realised how much carnage and swearing must have been going on behind me. Now my dumb moves take a different form!
A bit, but more from the fall than any impact. His brother collected him and agreed to go and get a check up.
A lot of dumb motorists do that all the time.
