Will wire bead tyres work with a stans kit.

yep, i found it a little harder to get my minion to seat and seal but leaving it with a tube in overnight then a bit more sealant than usual and it was fine.

i always thought that a normal wire bead would be more porous (spelling) than a tubeless tyre and therefore be harder to seal?

looks like all those old tyres in the garage can be put to use after all!

Generally a non UST tyre is more porous, so you need to use the sealant to form a sort of inner coating on the tyre. Shake it around a bit once it is inflated, there's a good video on the Stans website about getting all the holes filled in. ahem.

Had no prob with ust and folding tyres at all. Just got a chance of come wire bead tyre and didn't want to waste my time and sealent trying to get them to seat.
Looks like I'll be getting my track pump out.

It will really depend on the tyre/rim combo. If not a pretty tight fit, they're going to be really hard to seat and inflate.
