AM40s and merino socks- first stays reasonably dry and keeps splash off, second deals with what gets past the first. Sealskinz for really wet times.

I wear these, though the sole might be a bit stuff for some people and water can get in the top of them, but i'm actually thinking of getting a pair of really small ankle gaiters to go over the top of them. be pretty much indestructible after that I reckon.. but even when wet these do keep your feet warm.

If you wear SealSkins with a merino liner then it doesn't matter if your shoe is waterproof - in fact the less water it can retain the better, so some big holes help. I wear sandals a lot in snow and slush for that reason.

Sealskins. This winter I will be shaving my ankles so I can gaffer tape the Sealskins cuffs on.

BTW. I have a pair Raichle boots just like that in my wardrobe - completely unused. I'm saving them for my retirement.

Pair of 3mm neoprene socks from eBay. Pair of thin cotton socks underneath to wick away the sweat. Best £4.95 I've spent in a while, toasty warm.

I use my AM40's (now 41's) and a set of sealskins. I was riding in -15 up north last winter and my feet were OK. Not toasty but I didn't die.

One pair of ASDA socks.

then another pair of ASDA socks.

This is good for most conditions even when it gets properly nasty.
Admitedly, I get my winter boots out when there's lots of snow about.

I like the warm-but-sweaty idea of some neoprene wet socks....

Seal skins with thin wool socks inside. When it gets really cold I break out the wifes stripy leg warmers! Mmm,cosy. (There not the wifes, there mine.)
