Hi all,
Apologies if this has been done recently.
Any suggestions for gloves that keep your hands warm in 0 - 5 degree temps on rides lasting all day (could be raining too)?
Cheers for any help.
I'd suggest Sealskinz Ultra Grip.
At the moment I’m using a pair of merino wool liner gloves and a pair of 100% Brisker’s
The temps in Rossendale have been as low as -1 and this combination is working well.
However in my pack I have a pair of Montane Prism gloves just in case
I stick a set of arm warmers on over my long sleeved base layer. This keeps the blood in my arms warm on its way to my hands so I don't need anything too heavy.
Today was between 2C & 4C depending on the altitude we were at, I just happened to have an odd pair of gloves: one was a Specialized winter glove, the other a Black Diamond ice climbing glove. Both worked but the BD was better at dealing with sweat which results in heat loss.
Galibier Barrier are great for the money.
Galibier Barrier as above, but size up to allow room for a thin liner underneath. They're not massively generous fitting.
Annoyingly Galibier are out of stock and no one else sells them
The Daddy.

Like so many clothing related queries - it's all about layering in my opinion!
Best gloves I have are some ooooooold Altura Night Vision. They work so well because they were designed as a layering system with a waterproof outer and the insulation largely part of the inner layer.
I've never seen the point in winter gloves that have the insulation on top with the waterproof membrane below, you just end up with a hand surrounded by sodden wet insulation...
Annoying Altura seem to have abandoned this design for integrated liner/outer gloves so I don't know if it's the same system anymore, so have asked for some Dissent 133 waterproof outer gloves for christmas, they'll go over whatever liner gloves I fancy (currently have some fluoro yellow merino liners from Madison/Freewheel).
