Evening guys.
I was giving my Nomad 4 a strip down and clean last night and the bolt holding the rear shock in place rolled down the back of the bolted in cabinets never to be seen. I need to get hold of one ASAP and have found the following online, just wanted to confirm if this would work?
https://www.pro-bolt.com/aluminium-allen-bolt-m8-x-1-25mm-x-40mm-pack-x-5-7.html
I had a look on the SC diagram and it does state the bolt is M8 x 1.25 x 40 so should be OK?
Just hoping the head of the bolt fits snugly in the insert like now :/
Should be ok, the cap head bit is standard, so should fit. Do you really want aluminum?
I’d try calling SC Uk or Jungle and see if they can pop a genuine one in the post.
You'll probably get one in Halfords quite easily. Alloy not really the best option for that job. Steel of some kind would be better.
M8 seems big for a shock bolt, that's crank bolt size.
Shock bolts are 35 and 42mm according to SC diagram. I assume you'll want one with a thread on the end only for where it contacts the shock bushing?
Yes 42mm is what I need. It is flat in the middle and threaded at one end to screw in to the flip chip.
I’d be phoning one of the shock tuning companies as they’ll more than likely hold stock, or you could try phoning the importers
I've always used https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/M4-M5-M6-M8-HEXAGON-SOCKET-HEAD-CAP-SCREW-BOLT-DIN-912-A2-STAINLESS-STEEL/151145728116?hash=item2330fcc874:m:ms9Zcad3Mxuc9R9AAFKyiTQ Krostex is the seller. Very helpful and lightning fast delivery
