I need a new groupset for a bike I stupidly bought on the classifieds in "excellent condition". Got an email from Ribble today about 10 speed bargains. SLX Transmission is £180. I seem to remember it was £180 last week when I looked.

Anyway, there was a thread up about 11sp XT. DO folks think that 10sp SLX will get any cheaper than £180 any time soon?

Probably not, but may - although your definition of 'significantly' may be different to mine...

don't think so, the bargain prices are on run out lines - so as 11speed XT arrives expect to see some older XT kit bargains - but even at half price (debatable what full price is to start with) don't think will fox your problem - can't see SLX going 11speed for quite a while if at all - road 105 recently went 11 speed and I just picked up some 10speed STI's at what I reckon is a bargain price
pity about the bike - do you really need a full group set? maybe look at individual components at the likes of Merlin and On One might be OEM in a plastic bag but will get it running

In short no, it is still a main stay of the Shimano product range, there are also some very heavy discounts around on the kit as it is.

No, but when 11sp slx comes it will be almost as cheap at Ribble.
