Wiggle ignored order cancellation request - What to do?

First things first, yes I'm definitely overthinking this. And yes, this issue pales in insignificance to what the wiggle/CRC staff are facing, and I do NOT place any blame on them for this, definitely my fault for ordering it in the first place, hard to resist some of these prices!

So ordered some of the cheap fohn jackets from wiggle last Friday. Got cold feet at the weekend over sizing and decided I wanted to cancel the order. First thing Monday, filled the form on their website, plus spoke to them using the chat function, so they've had two requests from me to cancel the order. No problem they said...

Note during this whole time the status of the order was "order placed"

A few days go by with no update. That's fine I thought, they probably have a skeleton crew and have a pile of work to get through.

Just got a notification 10 minutes ago that my parcel has been dispatched with evri!

So I suppose my questions are:

1. I am getting the parcel delivered to a parcel shop, so if I don't collect it within 10 days evri will return it to wiggle. Problem with this, is wiggle even going to exist within 10 days? Don't want to be left in limbo having paid for a parcel that's been returned to a company that doesn't exist anymore.

2. I paid using PayPal. Do I have any grounds to request a refund via PayPal? On the reasoning that my request for an order cancellation has been refused, or something along these lines? I have a copy of the transcript with wiggle so do have evidence that I requested to cancel the order and confirmation that they would put that request through.

Alternatively I could just get the parcel, try the jackets. If they fit, great. If not, then I'll need to return them. But that brings me onto the same point as earlier. Don't exactly want to return something to a company that might close the next day...

So what to do?

Accept it and if it doesn’t fit sell on for a profit.

Added bonus of winding some folk on here up.

I'm with the first part of Tom's suggestion...

Agree it sounds a bit of a pain, but what jackets are they? Only asking as i already have a Polartec Neoshell waterproof from them which is ace,and id highly recommend, plus a Fohn lightweight waterproof smock arrived today which im similarly impressed with, especially for the £36 sale price! Kind of wish id also gone for their insulated smock too. Appreciate youve decided you now dont need or want them, but assuming they fit they tend to be good bits of kit that you may well get some good use out of. I gambled and only ordered in one size, but thanfully all fits well...

Yes, agreed with the above. Keep them, if they dont fit, give them to a relative/friend, or sell them. You’re hardly likely to lose money by selling them. The Staff at CRC/Wiggle are at the end of a shiiitty stick, so dont expect them to go out of their way to help out with either returns or refunds. I’d say rather a lot of them have gone in the last week, as orders are now taking 7-14 days rather than the previous 3-5 days.

Aye agree with everyone else. Try on, if it doesn’t fit, post pics up here. I’m sure someone will buy (me too possibly size dependent)

Agree with folk above. Im still ordering stuff and working on the basis there are now no returns so, if I dont like it/doesnt fit/etc, its classifieds or ebay

I'd collect it and take the hit on resale if it's not right rather than ignore it / return it.

I've ordered a few bits this week and I'm expecting them to show up at some point, hopefully before my Dutch excursion. If they're not right I'll sell on at cost or give away (low value stuff). No matter how hard everyone tries there's a much enhanced risk of gremlins at this point.

Sell on here for what you paid.
My DHB and Nukeproof jackets are both ace, no doubt the Fohn are too.

What size did you order, hit me up if you decide you don't want them and they are a large!
