28mm internal width or there or there abouts - what options are there?

A mate raves about Syntace MX35 wheels but they are mega bucks and cost more for a single wheel than I want to pay for two.

729s are wide but they are porky for general use.

Flow EXs are narrower but lighter.

I've seen the Pacenti ones but someone on here said they were made of cheese

I'd be struggling to look beyond the FlowEX for "normal" money Tom.

Are the original Flow rims a tad wider than the Flow EX rims, or have I gotten that completely wrong?

Depends on your definition of light. Halo Freedom rims are listed as 545g for the 26 and 635g for the 29er. I have the 29ers and they built up well. Listed as 28mm external width and somewhat cheaper than the Flows.

Absolutely 100% the other way round.

Flow was 28mm external (22.6mm internal), Flow EX is 29.1mm external (25.5mm internal)

Spank rims. Look massive but apparently quite light.
