Anyone know if there is any singletrack hidden away up there?

I head there occasionally for a quick and easy off-road blast if I'm short of time or in poor weather when I don't fancy committing to our more challenging local loops.

Whenever I do I always think that it has loads of potential for off piste stuff but never actually spot any.

Anyone got any inside info or tips? Or shall I just stick to the fire roads.... or pack a shovel and pruning saw? ๐Ÿ˜‰

Ah...thought that was the case. Worth a punt.

The only bit I've found so far is a short section dropping down along the stream towards Sandeman bridge.

On the map there are a few trails marked around the South of the forest around Assycombe Hill which I'll try and take a look at next time I'm up there.

Still quite like it up there - I particularly love the view down the valley from Teignhead Farm.. a fine bivi spot I reckon.

Got lost in Fernworthy Forest on a couple of occasions but never found any meaningful singletrack. You're right about Teignhead Farm though...

I used to ride with the Forest Manager for Dartmoor about 10 years ago and we went up there a few times. He knew it very well and there just wasn't much riding there.

I believe the FC also don't encourage access much away from the poular spots as it is a good location for Goshawk, which are easily disturbed.
